Automatic tool grinding machines “GriStar” series comparison
Jun, 9, 2021
In this article, we will introduce the features and functions of the GriStar series, which are automatic tool regrinding machines provided by Cyber RC Co.,Ltd.
First
The overall concept of the GriStar series automatic tool grinding machines is that they excel at regrinding and light cutting of cutting tools.
In the past, the only two options for regrinding cutting tools were large automatic tool grinding machines that produce new tools or manual regrinding that uses general-purpose tool grinders. However, these two methods both have major disadvantages.
Here are the points.
Regrinding with a large automatic tool grinding machine requires both highly skilled operators and high machine costs.
Manual regrinding with a general-purpose grinder requires the skills of a craftsman and a large amount of work time per piece.
Therefore, the “GriStar” series was developed to solve these problems.
All of the GriStar series are equipped with user-friendly interfaces, and once the tool specifications have been entered, the same tool data can be recalled for grinding at any time.
And compared to other large automatic grinding machine, the “GriStar” series are at low price and can greatly reduce regrinding costs.
Comparison | General-purpose grinders | Large automatic tool grinding machines | GriStar series |
---|---|---|---|
Professionalism | Requires craftsmanship | Professional operator | Anyone can operate |
Cost | Low machine investment High time cost | High machine investment Low time cost | Medium machine cost Low time cost |
As described above, the GriStar series offers easy operation and maximum cost performance in regrinding and light cutting field.
Line up of GriStar Series
There are three models in the GriStar series, designed depending on the user’s purpose of use, frequency of use, and compatible tools.
GriStar Multi 5 Axis
The flagship model of Cyber RC.
The 5-axis simultaneously CNC-controlled machine is equipped with a high-precision touch sensor, which is also used in large size machines, enabling high-quality regrinding.
It can perform a wide variety of tool grinding, tool types including drill, step drill, ball end mill, and tool’s flutes, peripheral milling also can be ground. (Options available)
The price is moderate among the three models, and it is suitable for professional users who has the need of grinding a wide variety of tools.
GriStar Multi Evolution
The basic version of above “GriStar Multi 5 Axis”.
With the 4-axis control, it can handle basic shape tools regrinding such as drills, end mills, reamers, and taps. Some special shapes are also supported, although not as many as the GriStar Multi 5 Axis supports.
The price of GriStar Multi Evolution is the lowest among this three models, and it is suitable for professionals who do a lot of regrinding of general shapes, and for metalworking factories.
GriStar SP
This is the most rigid model among the three models.
With the 5-axis synchronization and CNC control function and equipment of the high-precision touch sensors, high-quality grinding became possible.
The biggest feature of GriStar SP is the longest applicable tool length and the largest applicable diameter among the three models. It can be used for grinding basic shape tools, and can also be used for special shape tools. (Option)
The price is the highest among the three models, but it can respond to high-load and high-repetition operation. It is suitable for specialized grinding companies and centralized tool grinding rooms.
